Portions of Emeralda Marsh remain closed for restoration projects

MAITLAND, Fla., April 26, 2017 -- Portions of the St. Johns River Water Management District's Emeralda Marsh Conservation Area are closed to public recreation due to several restoration projects. The closure is necessary to ensure public safety.

WHAT: Recreational closure

WHEN: Ongoing through 2017

WHERE: Emeralda Marsh Conservation Area at various locations (see map)

Parking and trail access is closed south of the Yale-Griffin Canal, also known as Area 3 and Area 5. The closure also includes the 4.2-mile self-guided wildlife drive. Public parking remains available at the Bull Hammock Parking Area on Emeralda Island Road, north of the Yale-Griffin Canal.
