PALATKA, Fla., Dec. 8, 1999 — The public is invited to participatein the semi-annual meeting of the St. Johns River Water ManagementDistrict’s northern region Recreation Advisory Council. The meetingis Monday, Dec. 13, from 9:30 a.m. until noon at Welaka StateForest, located off County Road 309 in Welaka, Fla.

The Council, composed of representatives from state and localgovernments, as well as recreational user groups, provides recommendationson various public use issues concerning District land in Flagler,St. Johns, Putnam, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Baker, Alachua and northernMarion counties.

At the meeting, the public will have an opportunity to offerinput, and District staff members will provide updates on managementand acquisition activities. The meeting will also include anupdate on the Orange Creek Basin restoration project.
