Southern Region Recreational meeting to provide project updates
PALATKA, Fla., June 10, 2009 - Outdoor recreation and marsh restoration projects will be discussed Thursday, June18, at the St. Johns River Water Management District's Southern Region Recreational Public Meeting.
The 3 p.m. meeting will be held at the Indian River County Administration Complex in Building B, 1st Floor, Room B5-101, 1800 27th St., Vero Beach.
District staff members will provide updates on recreation, land management and acquisition activities in the upper basin of the St. Johns River. Other topics will include wildlife management area rule change requests and an overview of the Fort Drum Marsh Conservation Area Land Management Plan five-year revision.
Recreational meetings offer the southern region group a conduit for providing recommendations on public use issues related to District land in Indian River, Brevard and Osceola counties. The public will have an opportunity at the meeting to comment on recreational issues involving District land.
