PALM BAY, Fla., May 22, 2006 — The deadline is looming for submittingyour photos for the 2006 Indian River Lagoon photo contest.
Photos to be considered for use in the 2007 Indian River Lagoon calendar musthave been taken within the lagoon watershed, which extends from Ponce De LeonInlet in Volusia County to Jupiter Inlet in Palm Beach County. Judges are seekingcreativity. Popular subjects include wildlife, plants and habitats indigenousto the lagoon; however past winners focused their lenses on recreational andcommercial activities, children’s activities, scenic vistas, underwater photosand lagoon landmarks.
Entrants may submit up to three photographs for consideration. Images mustbe in landscape format only. Submission must be 5-by-7-inch or 8-by-10-inchhigh-quality prints. Many images will be selected for inclusion in the calendarto be available in the fall of 2006.
In addition, the top three winners will receive $300, $200 and $100 for first,second and third places, respectively. The remaining nine will each receive$25. Prize money will be sponsored by Environmental Consulting and TechnologyInc. All entries must be postmarked by July 31, 2006, andaccompanied by a signed application, which details entry requirements and limitations.
